Visit to Manly

We had another wonderful day!   Today we took a walk to Darling Harbor in downtown Sydney, then we took the ferry to Circular Quay, then another Ferry to Manly.   Rod Wallman met us and showed us around and took us to lunch.    The cliffs and beaches are just spectacular as are the views of downtown Sydney.   It was cloudy, and rained hard on us in the afternoon.  This was the first rain on our trip!

I met Rod and his girlfriend Zeny when they came to Oriental 7 years ago.  Rod is Penny Sigrist's younger brother.    We bonded over our sadness during two visits they made to Oriental to help Bob and to be at Penny's funeral.   Rod invited me to visit him in Australia, and I finally got here.

Rod is a landscape architect, so he told us about the plants as he walked with us thru the coastal forest.   I remember the tea tree, and the Norfolk Island pine.  Rod has lived in Manly his entire life.  He showed us where he was born and where he grew up, where he surfed, and where he lives now.  It is a wonderful area.
