Santiago, Chile

I arrived in Santiago in the morning on January 13th.   Somehow I left my ipad on the plane, and was not able to retrieve it.   I had high hopes that it would be in the lost and found when I returned to the airport, but that was not to be!!    Bye-bye ipad
We stayed at a nice hotel in a busy downtown area of Santiago, a city of 7 million people.   It is a very nice city, with beautiful architecture.   Chile had prosperous times about a hundred years ago, and that is reflected in the beautiful buildings.  There is somewhat of an economic upturn going on now, and there are some very modern buildings and skyscrapers.  
On our first day, we explored the street market right by our hotel, found a money changer, then headed out later for a spectacular dinner at a lovely revolving, rooftop restaurant!  So nice!!
