We stayed at a nice hotel in a busy downtown area of Santiago, a city of 7 million people. It is a very nice city, with beautiful architecture. Chile had prosperous times about a hundred years ago, and that is reflected in the beautiful buildings. There is somewhat of an economic upturn going on now, and there are some very modern buildings and skyscrapers.
On our first day, we explored the street market right by our hotel, found a money changer, then headed out later for a spectacular dinner at a lovely revolving, rooftop restaurant! So nice!!
View from the hilltop. Andes Mountains in the background.
We were serenaded on our first afternoon. These guys were good!
Dinner with this amazing view!!
